Rondo Recipe is a light-hearted work to be approached in the classical style. The “dash of Mozart” is not a facetious quote for there is in fact a small quote of music that is by Mozart hidden within the whole of this piece. It lasts only for a brief moment, hence the “dash.” As with many pieces of chamber music from this era, the style is light and buoyant and should never become (or allow to become) heavy handed. The tempo should remain brisk throughout, and attention to melodic lines should be the focus with accompanying lines providing the necessary harmonic as well as rhythmic support. ENJOY!
