"Kentucky Mountain Hoedown", composed by Mekel Rogers, is a strings orchestra work for young players in the style of a traditional lively folk dance. The main theme is based on the eastern Kentucky folk tune "Old Joe Clark", a song about 19th century Kentucky mountaineer, Joseph Clark.
