Autumn Sundance is an upbeat and catchy work in the style of a contredanse (a French country dance). Place emphasis on each downbeat to maintain the dance style but without getting heavy. Keep 8th notes light and separated to maintain a lively tempo. During the alternating statements beginning at measure 21, be sure to balance the volume so that both groups sound equal.

This composition is lovingly dedicated to my wife Rebecca. For over thirty years our lives together have been as happy as the sunshine evoked in this dance. I hope you and your students enjoy Autumn Sundance!
